STEM

  • Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) is a connected approach that intentionally promotes collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity for all Parkway students. A STEM approach fosters relevant and rigorous learning experiences which develop communication, adaptability, critical thinking, self-directedness, and preparedness for an ever-changing world.

We are preparing our students for a global and competitive world. STEM provides students the opportunity to be immersed in hands-on, real-world experiences that will both ignite and deepen their passion for STEM fields. It also challenges traditional structures and provides an opportunity to significantly alter how students think about the world around them ensuring that Parkway students can excel in life beyond school.

A STEM approach recognizes the uniqueness of each discrete content area while highlighting the connections between them. It goes beyond the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to focus on the opportunities for students to apply their learning to everyday life. These purposeful connections among the disciplines create meaningful experiences for students to meet the mission of the Parkway School District.
