Updated St. Louis County health guidelines
5/5/2021 -- Parkway continues to work closely with the St. Louis County Department of Health to keep everyone in our schools as safe and healthy as possible.
We wanted you to be aware that the St. Louis County Department of Health has released updated guidelines regarding quarantine requirements for K-12 schools. While these changes do not eliminate quarantines entirely, they do offer additional criteria that may allow us to quarantine fewer students and staff in certain cases.
The most significant change is fully vaccinated staff and students who are asymptomatic are no longer required to quarantine.
A person is fully vaccinated two weeks after they have completed either two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. If an individual shows evidence of the vaccine (the vaccination card) they will not be subject to quarantine. If they do not show evidence of complete vaccination or choose not to, they will be subject to quarantine.
St. Louis County has released additional guidelines that may reduce the number of students who are required to quarantine based on specific circumstances. In the event there is an exposure at school that impacts your child, details will be provided to you regarding the quarantine requirements specific to the situation.
We will continue the recommended mitigation strategies including mask-wearing; maintaining distance whenever possible; and daily monitoring of COVID-19 symptoms.
