Art is an integral part of education. Elementary students learn basic skills in art but they also learn that all problems have a variety of possible solutions. The more students are exposed to art the more they improve their visual literacy. The goal of the art classroom is to learn about art, be able to talk about art, and begin to problem solve while making art. Creating art requires students to take risks, involves lots of messiness and creative thinking. These qualities are considered vital twenty first century skills.

I received my undergraduate degree from Syracuse University in Art History, and a degree in Graphic Design. I went to Oswego State University and completed my Masters in Art Education. I have been a part of the Henry family for four years full time but have been in the school for eight. My daughter went to Henry and I feel extremely lucky to be a part of such a caring and hardworking staff.
