    Dear New 2024-25 Shenandoah Valley Families:
    The Shenandoah Valley Elementary School PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) would like to welcome
    you to our school! We are excited to open our doors and our hearts to new families in our community.
    We hope that you will find Shenandoah Valley (SVE) a fantastic place for your child to learn and grow.
    Many of the activities and resources at our school are provided through the efforts of the PTO. As a
    parent/guardian in the SVE community, you are automatically granted membership on the PTO. With
    that, we want to encourage you to participate and become involved when you can. Not only will it help
    build a better community, but it will allow your family to meet other members of the SVE family.
    Whether you want to help during the workday, in the evening, with other families, or in the comforts of
    your own home, we have many ways for you to be involved. We have a lot of committees that are
    always welcoming new volunteers, so please look at the next pages and drop us an email if you are
    interested in learning more.

    Please make sure to keep your eye out for the weekly emails PTO sends out as that is a great resource to
    find out about upcoming events and opportunities. In addition, please make sure to join the Facebook
    PTO page AND your grade level Facebook page as that is another form of communication PTO
    utilizes…not to mention a great way to meet other families that may be in a classroom with your
    student. Finally, and new this year, PTO is launching a Google site that will show you the upcoming
    calendar, opportunities to volunteer, our previous meeting minutes, and other helpful things.
    At SVE, we believe it’s important to fundraise, but rather than selling items to raise money for the
    school, we have created the Panther Pledge. This program was designed to allow families to make a
    direct donation where 100% of the proceeds go directly toward supporting the school. You will receive
    more information regarding the Panther Pledge in November as well as throughout the year. We do this
    so the community can understand where exactly the raised funds are going towards.
    Again, we welcome you to our SVE community with open minds and open hearts. Please feel free to
