Academic success at West depends upon regular school attendance!

For late arrivals, early dismissals, and full-day absences, parents should call 314-415-7500 ahead of time and follow the prompts.

Students should do the following:

Late Arrival

• Sign in at the grade level office and obtain a pass to class.
• E-mail the teachers of any classes they missed to notify them of their absence and, if the absence is excused, to obtain missing work.

Early Dismissal

• Leave campus at the time on their pass (dismissal passes will be delivered to students).
  
• E-mail the teachers of any classes they will miss to notify them of their absence and to obtain missing work.

Full-Day Absences

• E-mail their teachers to notify them of their absence and, if the absence is excused, to obtain missing work.

Reminders:

• Students are NOT allowed to leave school without the grade-level office having verbal consent from parents or guardians.  Attendance notes and e-mails are not accepted.
• Oversleeping, car trouble, unexpected traffic, etc. are unexcused absences.  Teachers are not expected to accept work for these absences.  Chronic unexcused absences can result in detentions, suspensions, or referral to Juvenile Court for truancy.
