Fragrances

  • flowers Over time plant fragrances have been used for everything from religious ceremonies to the making of perfumes. Today we make potpourri and add plant fragrances to shampoo, deodorant, moisturizer, and soaps. Aromatherapy, using essential oils from plants to promote physical and mental well-being, has become more popular. Currently, there is little scientific evidence to prove some of the claims of aromatherapy but fragrances definitely can affect us. They can uplift people, set a mood, and inspire memories.

When I smell lilacs I immediately think about running around in my backyard as a little kid.

When I smell cookies baking it brings back memories of making them with my grandma.

What is a scent that brings back a memory for you?
