Parkway’s 28 schools and Early Childhood Center are renowned for their achievements, with 18 Blue Ribbon Awards from the U.S. Department of Education and 19 Gold Star Awards from the State of Missouri. Parkway Schools include 18 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 4 high schools and a choice high school program and an Early Childhood Center with programs across the district.

Parkway achievement scores consistently rank among the top 15% of school districts in the state (English, math and science).

All four traditional Parkway high schools are consistently named among the country’s Best High Schools by U.S. News & World Report.

Parkway Schools was named a National School District of Character in 2017 and re-certified in 2022. Nineteen Parkway schools are National Schools of Character - Carman Trails Elementary, Claymont Elementary, Hanna Woods Elementary, Green Trails Elementary, Mason Ridge, Elementary, Ross Elementary, Oak Brook Elementary, McKelvey Elementary, Craig Elementary, Barretts Elementary, Wren Hollow Elementary, Highcroft Ridge Elementary, Central Middle, Northeast Middle, Southwest Middle, West Middle, Central High and the Early Childhood Center. In addition, Parkway has four National Leader in Me Lighthouse Schools - Barretts Elementary, Bellerive Elementary, Henry Elementary and River Bend Elementary. The Lighthouse recognition is awarded to schools that create a culture of student empowerment, based on the idea that every child can be a leader.

Parkway was named a 2020 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School District. Additionally, Parkway has six National Green Ribbon Schools - Bellerive Elementary, Claymont Elementary, Green Trails Elementary, Highcroft Elementary, McKelvey Elementary and North High - honored for innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, improve health and wellness, and ensure effective sustainability education.

Parkway has consistently earned a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting. Parkway's residential tax rate is among the lowest in 23 county districts. Parkway is one of only four school districts in Missouri to earn the Standard and Poor's AAA bond rating.
