Responding to intruders in an emergency situation
The 4E Training Class provides Parkway teachers and staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to keep themselves and students safe during an emergency. Join us for the half-day program that includes a presentation and discussion, followed by breakout sessions that will provide you with responses to active intruder situations (Educate, Escape, Evade and Engage). The class is conducted by certified 4E law enforcement personnel.
Available to all employee groups. Sessions are designed for employees who have not previously attended 4E training.
- Southwest Middle • July 9 • 8 a.m. - noon
- Central High • July 16 • 8 a.m. - noon
- North High • July 23 • 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.
- West High • Oct. 18 • 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.
- Administrative Center • Feb. 14, 2020 • Two sessions.
AM session 8 a.m. - noon; PM session 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Note: This training is required for all employees hired after July 1, 2019 and must be completed within 3 years of employment. Teachers will receive in-service credit for the training. Non-exempt Operations employees (including part-time TAs and hourly/clocking staff) will be paid for this training and should coordinate the training date with their supervisor and submit the training time in their time sheet for that pay period. Exempt Operations employees will also be paid, but will attend the training during their regularly scheduled work hours.
