For more than a year leading up to November 2022, thousands of Parkway residents participated in a series of community meetings, surveys and feedback opportunities to help design a plan to address the maintenance and repair needs of Parkway’s aging school buildings. Their work was part of our ongoing strategic planning process, Project Parkway.

In the spring of 2022, the board of education approved the community plan and placed a no-tax-rate-increase bond issue on the ballot. 

Proposition S passed with over 76% community approval in November 2022 and will fund projects at every school over six years, including:

• Capital replacement, maintenance and repairs of aging school buildings

• Technology upgrades

• Accessibility projects 

• Safe and accessible playgrounds

• Classroom, restroom, early childhood and athletics facility upgrades

We remain grateful for the overwhelming support of our community and these projects as we work to improve our school buildings and classrooms!
