• Hello, McK Family!

    My name is Melissa Young and I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade at McKelvey this year! This will be my 15th year in education and I am thrilled to have my own classroom again after 9 years of working alongside teachers and students as an instructional coach. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone in this amazing community.

    Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, being outside, traveling - especially to places that have a beach - and having the occasional Harry Potter movie marathon. :) I LOVE coffee. Pizza and any kind of mexican food are my fav foods.

    Second grade is such an exciting year - kiddos grow so much socially, emotionally, and as learners at this stage in their educational journey. I feel incredibly fortunate to help guide a new group of young learners - together we will learn and grow so much this year!
