Carton 2 Garden
Show us your students’ creativity by re-purposing milk and juice cartons from your school cafeteria to either build or enhance your school garden. Educators can engage students in a hands-on experience creating teachable moments on environmental stewardship, sustainable packaging and healthy living. The best use of cartons in a school garden gives your school the chance to win one of 15 prizes with a grand prize valued at $5,000. Entries are due March 25th. Learn more.

Discover Nature Schools
The purpose of the Discover Nature Schools program is to promote conservation education and encourage hands-on outdoor learning experiences. This grant provides $500 towards instructional and outdoor classroom materials, as well as, the Discover Nature Schools unit including a student book, student science notebook, teacher guide, and transportation for field experience. Sign up and request materials for your sustainability project on DonorsChoose.org, a crowdfunding platform for educators. You can also register your project through the Green Apple Day of Service and link your DonorsChoose page. If you link these, the Center for Green Schools will donate up to $200.

Truth to Power: School Climate Solution Challenge
Any student or teacher for grades 6 -12 is eligible to enter a climate project idea for their school, club, team or favorite after-school program/learning institution. Projects can include research/assessment of local climate change, communication campaigns, changes to facilities, etc. Grant awards of $1,000 up to $20,000 may be requested. Learn more and apply.

Captain Planet Foundation EcoStem Kits
These custom-curated and designed collections of lessons and materials facilitate EcoStem learning and using the environment as a context for applying knowledge. Kits include cutting-edge project techniques, 3-dimensional learning, citizen science, and the best materials and equipment identified for each project. Choose from Earth Ecosystem, Pollination, Renewable Energy, and Water Ecosystem Kits. Applications are due by January 15th and July 15th each year or use DonorsChoose.org to raise funds. Learn more.
