6th Grade Exploring Theatre: Onstage and a Backstage Pass
Course Description:
Here’s your ticket to explore the world of theatre! Discover what happens onstage and use your own backstage pass to experience the inner workings of theatrical life. In this course, students will build a collaborative community, learn how to develop characters and storylines, and create designs for a production.
Rationale:
The intention of Exploring Theatre: Onstage and a Backstage Pass is to discover the fundamentals of performance and production as well as the importance of collaboration. Students will develop and apply skills to communicate ideas through theatrical performances. They will gain insight into their own interests and abilities and to introduce them to the various opportunities for future studies in the world of Theatre Arts. They will build skills in creative problem solving, perseverance, empathy, which then transfers to other disciplines.
