Student Data Privacy Resources
Parkway is committed to the privacy and safety of our students especially when it comes to the digital tools that they use in the classroom for learning. In order to help our students find balance and make good decisions in all aspects of their lives, we hope to equip our students and families with some resources found below that will help to guide their own efforts to make data privacy a priority.
Student Privacy Compass - Student Privacy Compass aims to provide a one-stop shop for education privacy-related resources to all stakeholders in the student privacy conversation: students, parents, educators and education agencies, the edtech industry, and policymakers struggling to grapple with the ever-changing student privacy legal landscape.
Educators Guide to Student Privacy (PDF) - This guide is meant to help teachers utilize technology in the classroom while protecting their students’ privacy.
Common Sense Media Privacy Program - The Common Sense Privacy Program evaluates privacy policies so that parents and teachers can make smart choices about the learning tools they use with their children and students, and so that schools and districts can participate in improving the technology used in K–12 classrooms.

National Online Safety Privacy Guides - Seeks to make the internet a safer place for children through equipping school staff, parents and children with the knowledge they need to understand the digital world.
National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center - Provides opportunities to learn more about technology and is a resource for classes about computer science that will help students better understand the online world.
ConnectSafely - Provides tips, advice, and guides as to privacy and security about the websites and apps you may use.
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children - Provides resources for online safety for students and families. Find the Netsmartz and Kidsmartz resources under the "Education" menu.
Privacy Pirates - A game based in Canada that teaches simple concepts of privacy for ages 7-9.
